The Ranchu Goldfish is hooded fancy goldfish that very popular particularly in Japan. The Ranchu have appearance like Lionhead but Ranchu has a back that is more arched and have much shorter tails that are tucked-in at a sharp angle. Ranchu body shape also very similar with Lionhead that both are egg-shaped goldfish without a dorsal fin. The most prominent feature of the ranchu is its head. The Ranchu head covered by headgrowth or crown. The gill cover has appearance-like a raspberry. The crown of young ranchu fry may take at least a year to develop.
This goldfish can reach lenght between 6 to 8 inches or (15 to 20 centimeters) in the proper breed and have a lifespan of 6 to 10 years. The best water temperature for Rancu is 65° - 78°F. Ranchus may available many coloration that is in orange, red, white, red-and-white, blue, black, black-and-white, black-and-red, natural, and chocolate coloration. This goldfish scales can be either metallic, nacreous (calico) or matte.
