Fin Congestion Treatment

Fin congestion diseases is an indication that the water quality in the tank is very poor. We can change a half, or all of the water with new clean water and add enough methylene blue to turn the water a very slight blue. Other alternative is add one tablespoon of rock salt for every gallon of water. We must sprinkle the salt around the tank over a period of a few minutes, not just dump it in the tank. Either of these treatments should clear up the problem in a few days.

There are an antibiotic, either penicillin or Tetracycline hydrochloride can be purchased to treat fin congestion if the simple treatment above didn't work. Remember to read the directions of each these antibiotic carefully, since these chemicals will become very toxic to the fish if used too much
